Koch Eye Associates had developed an office focused on diabetic retinopathy in affiliation with the Joslin Clinic. To gain visibility for the new location and its focus on diabetes Black Diamond developed a celebrity spokesperson agreement with David Givens, Wide Receiver, for the New England Patriots. Givens was featured in brochures, print ads, billboards, events and did PR interviews on NBC-TV. The relationship was leveraged even more when Givens was featured on the front page of the Boston Globe after the Patriots won Super Bowl XXXIX.
